Periodically, the Western North American Naturalist, formerly the Great Basin Naturalist, publishes lengthy articles or symposia in the form of Memoirs or Monographs. We are currently distributing these publications for no charge to addresses within the United States and for the cost of shipping to addresses outside the United States. GBN Memoirs #1. The birds of Utah (1976)

 

This book discusses bird conservation and habitats and provides species identification. It contains many photographs, some color and some black and white; 229 pp.

GBN Memoirs #2. Intermountain biogeography: a symposium (1978)

 

This symposium, organized by K.T. Harper and James L. Reveal, discusses ecological changes that have occurred in the Intermountain West region of the U.S., with a focus on preservation and land management. 268 pp. maps, charts, and graphs.

GBN Memoirs #3. The endangered species: a symposium (1979)

 

The symposium addresses endangerment, its effects, and some specific cases. Included are proceedings of panel discussions concerning endangered species on federal lands; 170 pp.

GBN Memoirs #4. Soil-plant-animal relationships bearing on revegetation and land reclamation in the Nevada desert (1980)

GBN Memoirs #5. Utah Lake monograph (1981)

 

This monograph discusses the environment, geology, water quality, vegetation, phytoplankton, and zooplankton, along with fishes and terrestrial vertebrates of the Utah Lake ecosystem. 169 pp. black-and-white photographs.

GBN Memoirs #6. The bark and ambrosia beetles of North and Central America (Coleoptera: Scolytidae), a taxonomic monograph (1982)

 

This monograph describes biological activities, ecological role, biogeography, and classification of bark and ambrosia beetles. It contains drawings and some photographs for species identification; 1359 pp.

GBN Memoirs #7. Biology of desert rodents (1983)

 

This book focuses on adaptation, evolution, and behavior of desert rodents; 134 pp.
